George Washington Banks, Jr., affectionately known by many As "Junior", departed this world on October 10, 2025 peacefully at his home in Riverhead, NY.
Born on August 31, 1940 to the late George Washington Banks, Sr. and Easter Leigh Banks in Elizabeth City, NC. George was their baby boy in every way. Afterwards, George went to the college of the Albemarle in Elizabeth City, NC and majored in electronics.
In his later years, he moved to Long Island, NY where he was employed by various companies but was mainly seen as a landscaper alongside his brother. When Not engaged in work, George was an avid guitar player for his family, friend, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Southampton.
We all will miss his baritone voice and shy persona.

George leaves behind to cherish his memory, his sisters Ethel Riddick of Southampton, NY, Laura Harris of Tuckahoe, NY, his brother William Ray Banks of Southampton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends..
As he would quote by his niece Gilda, "No more lonely tear drops."
As we all know he is now playing his beloved guitar to the heavens. Rest easy George AKA Uncle Junior.
