George Bell Obituary

George Bell, a cherished member of the Pungo community, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on August 21, 1946, in Beaufort County, NC, George spent his entire life in the place he loved most. His deep connection to the land and the people in it endured throughout his years.

George was known for his simple yet profound appreciation for life and nature. As a dedicated pig farmer, he understood the value of hard work and the tranquility found in the outdoors. In his younger days, George could often be found fishing along the canal banks, indulging in stories about his fishing and trapping adventures. He was happiest surrounded by the quiet of nature and the company of friends and family.

More than his love for the outdoors, George's greatest joy came from his family. He absolutely adored his granddaughter, Amber Tetterton, and her children, Michael, Jayden, Kendall, Karly, and Donovan. They were his heartbeat, the skip in his step, and the reason for his smile. His face would light up the instant he saw them, and he cherished every moment spent in their presence.

George is preceded in death by his parents, Ander and Claudia Bell. He leaves behind a family who will continue to honor his memory: his granddaughter Amber and her children, as well as nieces and nephews Gregory Bell, Michael Bell, Steven Bell, Amy Fulford, Jodi Bell, Kayla Harris, Justin Bell, Audrey Bell, and Heidi Bell.

A special thank you to Roland & Karen Bell, MJ's Country Store and employees, and the Union Grove Church of Christ and its members. Your kindness through love and food will never be forgotten.

No services are scheduled at this time. George Bell's spirit will forever be a part of the Pungo community he loved so much.

Joseph B. Paul Jr. Funeral Service is honored to assist the Bell family.
