George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Richardson Blowers, whom he met in college and married June 5, 1971. He is also survived by his son, Sean Kindrick Blowers, born April 25, 2011-a day George considered the happiest day of his life. He is further survived by his sisters, Sally Muma, and Kathy (Steve) Richard; nieces Jayne (Chris) Clark, Lara (Jeremy) Andreason, and Kristen Richard; nephews Richard (Rick) Muma and Lance Richard; great nieces and nephews Elyse, Ryan,Taylor, Erin, Carson, Courtney; and great-great-niece and nephew Morgan and Benjamin. George spent his life serving and protecting others. A strong swimmer, he was a member of the Campus High School swim team and worked as a lifeguard as a teenager. He served in the US Navy Reserves and US Navy from January 1963 until September 1965, serving aboard the USS Kitty Hawk during the Vietnam War.

After his military service, George worked for Cessna Aircraft in Wichita. Following his graduation from WSU, George became an Industrial Arts teacher and Assistant Football Coach in Lawrence, KS.

In 1975 George and Barbara moved to Spring eld MO in part due to his fond memories of many summer vacations spent with his grandparents in Seymour, Missouri. For 28 years George continued his teaching career as an Industrial Arts teacher and administrator for Dallas Co. R-1schools at Buffalo High School and Middle School. During these years he earned a Master's degree from Drury University and a Specialist's degree from Missouri State University. At the time of his retirement in 2005, he served as the Director of Dallas Co. Career Center. During his career, George also was an Assistant Football Coach several seasons at Buffalo High School and served as Head Track and Cross-Country Coach for most of his tenure. He was also privileged to coach track and cross-country at Southwest Baptist University for four years while still teaching in Buffalo. George built lifelong friendships with many of the athletes, students, and colleagues whose lives he in uenced.

Outside of his career, George enjoyed painting, woodworking, carving, bicycling, traveling, and volunteering. He was a member of the Sunshine Bike Club and participated in several MS150 rides and Tuesday evening rides in the Pleasant View School area. He enjoyed working out at The Meyer Center and attending spin bike classes. For many years, George donated blood and platelets until his health prevented it.

As a longtime member of Schweitzer Church, George found joy serving others through volunteer work. After retiring, he joined the Disaster Relief Team, helping communities rebuild after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as well as following the 2011 Joplin tornado. He also served faithfully for several years as part of the Schweitzer Stephen Ministry team.

In the last eight months of his life, George resided at James River Nursing and Rehabilitation due to mobility challenges caused by Parkinson's. He quickly became a favorite among the staff, known for his humor, teasing, and gratitude. He appreciated their encouragement and care. His goal was to return to his earthly home by his birthday on October 5, but instead he went to his heavenly home on October 8 where he is happy and pain-free.

George lived his entire life in service to others. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, and caring love as a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
