Wensley “Wendy” Putnam passed away peacefully in Shawnee, Kansas, on November 8, 2025, at the age of 74. Wendy was born to Howard and Wensley Paine on June 11, 1951. She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School and continued her education at both Baker University and Drury College.

Wendy was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother whose kindness and gentle spirit touched all who knew her. She had a lifelong love of music, literature, and board games, and she especially enjoyed watching science fiction television shows. Wendy treasured every moment spent with her family and friends. She found great joy in shared laughter and meaningful conversation. Her five grandchildren were her greatest source of pride and happiness.

She is also survived by her brother, Jon Paine, and his wife, Terry, of Overland Park, Kansas, and their children, Jennifer Medley, Jon Paine, and Christy Bourne. She is survived as well by her sister, Pennie Trafton of San Ramon, California.

Wendy will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, and her love of family. Her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her, and her memory will be deeply cherished.

A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prairie Wind Hospice in Shawnee, Kansas.
