George Burton, Jr. Obituary
George R. Burton Jr., 80, husband of Bonnie Ann Beasley Burton, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2024, at Baptist Health Lexington. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky, on June 14, 1944, to the late George Burton Sr. and Ruby Grey Burton. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son, Robert Burton; daughters, Margie Rigney, Connie Wylie (Mike), and Amanda Jo Burton; sisters, Lily McDonald and Carolyn Montgomery; grandchildren, Michael Rigney Jr., Joseph Rigney (Amanda), Adam Wylie, and Tyler Wylie; as well as great-grandchildren, Turner Rigney, Collyns Rigney, Payton Wylie, and Parker Wylie. He is preceded by his brother, Ray Burton, and sister, Joyce Lowery. Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 16, at Betts & West Funeral Home with Thomas Coburn officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, where bearers will be Michael Rigney Jr., Joseph Rigney, Adam Wylie, Tyler Wylie, Lucas Hammond, and Levi Hammond. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of service at the funeral home. Betts & West is honored to serve George and the Burton family in their time of need.
