George Allen Cahoon, age 84, of Brainerd, MN, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, June 22, 2024. George was born in Brainerd to Allen and Helen (Wilmar) Cahoon on February 4, 1940. George met his bride to be when he was in Germany, while he served in the US Army. He married Elisabeth (Schwartzkopf) Cahoon on October 21, 1961, at the First Baptist Church in Brainerd, MN.

When he finished his time in the military, he started his own business of over 50 years laying ceramic tiles. Around 1972, George and Elisabeth moved to the Brainerd Lakes area where he became one the best tile setters in all of central Minnesota and beyond.

He also felt led to start ministering about the love of Jesus. He pastored the Brainerd Christian Fellowship in Brainerd nearly 40 years. He unconditionally loved each and every one that he crossed paths with. There are thousands of people who have experienced his love. He also served in missionary travels, including Mexico and Uganda. He fell in love with the people, especially in Uganda.

He was a loving husband to Elisabeth of 62 years, and amazing father to his girl, Claudia (Scott) Passmore, both of Brainerd. He also doted on his four grandsons, Kyle (Alexis) Helland of Ellsworth, WI, Jeremiah Helland of Sauk Rapids, MN, Jonah Helland of St. Joseph, MN, Kristopher George of Brainerd, and great granddaughter Freya, sisters Janice Viet and Kathleen (Steve) Schuety, brother Steven Cahoon, and sister Corrinn (Curt) Neumann.

He is going to be missed by all of his siblings, family, loved ones and so many others.

George is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Helen Cahoon, his infant son George, his sister Sharon (Keith) Robertson of Brainerd, and his brother William (Karen) Cahoon of Tamarack.
