George R. Camp, 90, of Freehold Township passed away on January 18, 2024 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township.
He was predeceased by two infant sons, Christopher and Brian; his parents, John and Mildred Camp; a brother, Jack (John) Camp; and a brother-in-law, John Doerr.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathleen Pomaski and Dennis; two grandsons, Chris and Ken Pomaski; his sisters, Darlene Doerr, and Carol and Kerm Anderson; his special friend of many years, Gaye Peters; and many loving nieces, nephews, and their families.
George was a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold.
He served as an original board member of Arbors at Raintree, Freehold Township.
He was a former member of the U.S. Trotting Association, and Freehold Council No. 1672, Knights of Columbus.
He was a senior buyer for Bendix/Honeywell for 25 years. Previously he worked for 3M Company, Freehold Township as a purchasing agent for 15 years. After retirement, he worked in the pro shop at Battleground Country Club for several years.
George was an avid golfer, and New York Mets and New York Giants fan. George enjoyed his weekly visits to American Legion Post No. 54, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4374, and the American Hotel. He leaves behind many special acquaintances and friends.
The viewing will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold on Monday, January 29, from 3 to 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold on Tuesday, January 30, at 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at St. Rose of Lima Mausoleum.
Memorial donations may be made to V.F.W. Post No. 4374, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
