George L. Carson, age 79 of Colchester, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. He was born October 10, 1946, to Zanel and Enid Huston Carson in Macomb, IL. George was united in marriage in 1989 in Macomb, to Donna Smith, she survives.

Surviving to mourn George's passing is his wife Donna Carson, Colchester, 2 daughters: Dana (Ron) (Shaw) Ross, Kirkwood, IL, Deana (Mark) (Shaw) Twenhafel, Gorham, IL, 4 grandchildren: Darrin Ross, Sullivan Ross, Dacoda (Autumn) Twenhafel, Conner Twenhafel, 1 sister: Linda (Stephen) Greuel, Macomb, 2 sister in laws: Wanda Carson, Vicki Carson, his beloved terriers: Bonnie and Clyde, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

George was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers: Keith Carson, and Larry Carson.

George served his country as a medic in the United States Army for 2 years. He had worked for Thermogas, Adams Discount, and retired from the Water Treatment Plant in Macomb after 20 plus years, he also was a part-time Deputy Sheriff for John Bliven for 10 years. He was a member of the Carthage Gun Club, the McDonough County Sheriffs Auxillary. George enjoyed watching old westerns, and military history documentaries and loved his sweets. He also liked to ride four-wheelers, and motorcycles. George was a 1964 graduate of Colchester High School.

Friends may view and sign the registrar book at the Jones Funeral Chapel in Colchester, from 8:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday, December 19, 2025. Family will meet with friends from 10 A.M. to 12 (Noon), Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Funeral Home. Military Rites will be conducted at 12 (Noon) at the Funeral Home by The Macomb V.F.W and Macomb American Legion. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Burial will take place at a later date, at Mt. Auburn Cemetery, in Colchester. Memorial is to Colchester Rescue. Condolences and memories may be expressed to the family at jonesmortuaryfh.com
