George D. Colgin, 87, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Monday, June 16, 2025 at his home. He was born on January 23, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, son of Paul V. Colgin and Margaret Hartshorn Colgin. George graduated from High School in Knox County, Ohio and then served his country by serving in the US. Army. After the service he was employed by AT&T in Columbus, Ohio where he retired. He was a member of the Fifth St. Church of Christ in Beverly and the American Legion Post #389 in Beverly where he served as Chaplain. On May 13, 1961 George was married to Helen Muncy Colgin who survives. He is also survived by his favorite dog Charlotte; and his three cats, Handsome Jack, Midnite and Sophie. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother and one sister. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Linda, Mindy and Sarah for their special care of George.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Fifth Street Church of Christ in Beverly with Evang. Zack Waite officiating. Friends may call from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the church on Friday. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of the arrangements and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
