Nan Colgin Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Osborn Funeral Home - Shreveport on Dec. 25, 2025.
Nan Martin Colgin was born August 26, 1930 and passed away December 18, 2025 at the age of 95.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church officiated by Father Michael Cannon. A private burial took place on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Born in Ranger, Texas to E. R. Martin and Kate Hall Martin, she was the cherished youngest of five siblings and held a deep and abiding love for her only surviving sister, Mariah. They were as close as sisters can be and both proud Texans through and through.
At the age of fourteen Nan met the love of her life, Gayle. Their devotion endured a lifetime beginning with their marriage in France in 1953 at The American Church in Paris. Following the conclusion of Gayle's military service they made their home in Shreveport.
Nan loved Jesus with all her heart. The most important things in her life were devotion to God, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had a deep love for her many nieces and nephews. Nan spent much time in prayer for the family she loved so dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Lynn Gayle Colgin.
She is survived by daughter, Reneé Colgin Town; son, Bradley Gayle Colgin; daughter, Amy Colgin Payne and husband, Todd Payne; daughter, Mary Caroline Colgin; grandchildren: Nanette Town Saia and husband, Bart; George Wilton Town, Jr. and wife, Rachel; Mignon Town Kastanos and husband, Jonathan; Amelie Town Bernhard and husband, Patrick; Gabrielle Town Ollendike and husband Philip; Christopher Colgin and wife, Andrea; Micaela Colgin Blanchard and husband Travis; Ana Denae Colgin Fisher and husband, James; Abram Colgin; Adeline Hall Payne; Mary Peyton Payne and 18 greatgrandchildren.
Nan's church, Saint Paul's Episcopal, was central to her life and faith. Father Michael Cannon, her Wednesday Bible study friends and the members of St. Catherine's Guild were immeasurably important to her.
All glory be to God, Nan will celebrate this Christmas in Heaven!
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were:
George W. Town, Jr., Christopher Colgin, Abram Colgin, Mike Colgin, Andy Colgin, Richard Collier, Tom Collier, Bill Collier, John Collier, Stephan Spence, Rick Berry, Steve Becker, David Greer, John Philips, Aaron Russling, Barry Larson and Charles Thompson.
