George was born in Fairfax, Virginia, to a military family and was the youngest of four boys. In his childhood, he lived in Spain and various states in the United States. He attended military school and graduated from Burbank High School in California. He received a Senate recommendation to the United States Merchant Marine Academy. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree and the Rank of Lieutenant in the United States Navy. He married right after graduating. He and his young family of four traveled throughout the United States, following George's employment path. Each job built on his education, experience, and people skills. He was the construction leader on a gambling boat, worked for NASA, and eventually found his way to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he secured a job in the VA as a Resident Engineer. When his children were in their teens, he and his first wife divorced. George and I met on Match.com one year after his divorce. We dated for less than a year and were married in Belize. The highlight of his career was serving as the Senior Resident Engineer on the construction of the multimillion-dollar Major General William H. Gourley Outpatient VA Clinic.

George was both right and left-brained: he had a STEM background but was also knowledgeable in arts and humanities. He was an avid reader of spy novels and loved action-adventure movies. His sense of humor and quick wit were better than those of most professional jokesters. He was skilled with electronic media. He grieved the loss of his daughter to cancer on 14 October 2021; her husband is a single dad to the twins, and George loves them all. Prior to his death, we were able to visit with his son, his son's wife, and Vivienne: George's new granddaughter. George has many friends across the country from work and college. George and I both loved the outdoors and went on many adventures, some of which were quite dangerous. Lol. I was incredibly honored to provide him with hands-on care during the four days prior to his death.

We came to each other with imperfections that our marriage turned into gold. George experienced much adversity in his life and turned himself around. I am proud of who he was, his growth process, and who is he.
