Sherry Ratheal, a loving wife and mother of two sons, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025. Sherry was born on October 23, 1957, in Crosbyton, TX to Don and Melba Spurgin and a younger sister Kathy Lowrie. She attended Crosbyton Schools where she met the love of her life, Steve Ratheal. They were married on August 14, 1976. Sherry was the dedicated mother of Christopher and Jeffrey, mother-in-law to Sarah Ratheal and loving grandmother of Christopher's and Sarah's three children, Eden, Riley and Levi.
Sherry enjoyed her work as a mortgage loan officer and was known for her ability to help families purchase homes that met their family's needs. Sherry is best remembered for her sweet heart and selfless desire to help others. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother Melba, her father-in-law Roy Ratheal, and her bother-in-law Larry Early.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the French Westside Chapel in Albuquerque. Interment will be at 2:30 pm, following the visitation, at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque, NM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Red Cross.
