Max Ratheal Obituary
Max Cameron Ratheal, 76, of Weatherford, Texas passed away on November 12 ,2019. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 15, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 16, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at Couts United Methodist Church.
Max was born on September 25, 1943 in Crosbyton, Texas to Alvie and Charlsie Ratheal. After high school he completed his master’s degree in Chemistry. He was a chemistry professor at Weatherford College. Along with being a part-time radio and TV actor, he enjoyed the outdoors along with archaeology and had travelled to Central America to above the Arctic Circle.
Max is survived by his wife, Gay of 52 years, of Weatherford; son, Jeff Ratheal (Stephanie) of Snyder, Jill Cribbs (Ralph) of Weatherford, and son, Scott Ratheal of Weatherford; sister, Jerri Proctor of Lubbock; five granddaughters and three great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At the request of the family, donations can be made to the Jodie and Bessie Jopling Endowed Scholarship, Office of Advancement, Wayland Baptist University, 1900 W 7th Street, Plainview, Texas 79072-9984.
