Funeral service for Kenneth "Sonny" Rodney Batson will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, October 5, 2025 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel, 512 North Ridgeway, Cleburne, Texas. Internment will follow in Rosehilll Cemetery in Cleburne.

Kenneth Rodney Batson, affectionately known as "Sonny," passed away in Fort Worth, Texas, on September 30, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on September 10, 1966, in Midland, Texas, Kenneth was a true jack of all trades, skilled not only in his work but in the art of living life to its fullest.

His proudest accomplishments were his roles as a devoted father and grandfather. Kenneth treasured his time with his two children, Amanda Beth Batson and Bert Rodney Batson Jr., and his granddaughters, Makayla and Makenzie Brinlee, who brought him immeasurable joy.

A man of simple pleasures, Kenneth found peace and happiness in the outdoors—whether it was fishing or bow hunting with his father and just spending time with family. His laid-back nature and easygoing personality drew people to him. Known for his sharp wit and quick humor, he was often the life of the party, with stories and jokes that left everyone in stitches. His crude humor, honesty, and ability to roast anyone with love and laughter made him unforgettable.

Kenneth was born to Bert Rodney Batson and Doris Faye Moore Batson, both of whom he cherished deeply—especially his beloved mother, Doris. He was also a loving brother to the late Carol Sue Batson and is survived by his sisters, Laura Batson Perry (and her husband, Bill Craft), and Marnie Marie Batson Smith (and her husband, Federico Smith Barron). He will always be remembered as “the best brother,” the one who shaped the family’s humor and whose love for his siblings was undeniable.

He is survived by his children, Amanda and Bert Batson, as well as his granddaughters, Makayla and Makenzie Brinlee. His extended family also includes his sisters’ families: Laura's daughter Heather (and her husband, Josh Oestricher), and their children Rory and Peyton Oestricher; Marnie's children, Barron, Jackson, Matthew, and Jefferson Myers; and his niece, Robin Woten (and her husband, Gene Woten), and their children Holly Hazlett and Bryan Woten.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his dear nephew, Jeremiah Jay Bert Aydelotte, whose spirit lives on in his son, Brody Aydelotte. He was also preceded by his niece, Ashley Aydelotte, whose sons, Hunter and Hayden Ferguson, carry on her legacy with strength and grace.

Kenneth’s love for his extended family, including his aunts, uncles, and cousins, was unwavering. His absence leaves an enormous void, one that will be felt by all who were lucky enough to know him. The world is a little less bright without him, but his memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he shared with us. We will miss his jokes, his roasts, and the unforgettable way he made every moment feel like an adventure.

Rest in peace, Sonny. You may be gone, but your spirit will forever light up the hearts of all who loved you.
