Mr.Crook without you, I would have never understood physics, nor that learning physics could be so entertaining and funny! I am so grateful to have experienced you as a wise teacher, a kind soul, and a goofball at heart. Till this day, you are remembered as one of my all time favorite teachers, I´ve never forgotten. Nor, will I ever forget singing Electricity & Conductivity, in your class. You made science & lab, something to look forward to. You left a sincere, life loving, warm & generous, legacy. Thank You! May God Rest your Soul, Mr. Crook. Heaven is truly blessed to have you. Much Love, kc

It is with great sadness and gratitude that I make this post.
George Crook was my teacher. Actually he taught all of my brothers in High School and my dad at BCC.
I graduated in 82 and during my High School years he was instrumental in my success.
I was actually told by another teacher that I was a "59". This was my average in her class.
After a few behavioral infractions in her class, I along with some friends, were transferred into Mr. Crook´s Physics class. George taught us with a kind, firm hand letting us know he truly believed in us and showing us that he cared.
He used humor and engaging activities to make Physics real. We all loved his class even though he could be tough.
After we graduated, we all went on to sucess.
He encouraged me to go to BCC. From there I went to Roger Williams , then to Bridgewater and finally on to Harvard for some Post Graduate work.
None of this would have been possible without the guidance of Mr. Crook. I kept in touch with him over the years and would see him once or twice per year. A few years back he got together with " his boys". ( see the pic ) We all had a great night and at one point George became a bit emotional as we thanked him many years later for the impact he had on all of us.
We all hope to leave something behind when our time on earth is completed. George truly did.
I´m a teacher now, just like you George.
Thank you Mr. Crook.

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing if Mr. Crook. I was so very fortunate to have had Mr. Crook in the classroom next to me when I taught biology at NBHS in 2006. He helped me immensely during that year and I will always be thankful for him.
Mr. Crook was a gifted individual who truly cared about his students and was able to teach an incredibly difficult subject in a way that allowed his students to not only understand it, but enjoy it. I honestly wish I had been able to sit in on his class and learn physics from him. He took me under his wing that year and I will always remember how helpful and caring he was. I am a better person for having known Mr. Crook. The world lost a remarkable teacher and I will deeply miss him.
God bless you and your family, Mr. Crook.
Sincerely,
Jody A. Carreiro

My deepest condolences to the Crook family. Christmas at their house was a laugh and his tolerance of us when we were in high school hanging in his basement was impressive. xoxo
