Along with his parents he is predeceased by his daughter Shalinda Darby; sisters Toni M. Darby-Greene and Mary Jenkins-Young; granddaughter Kayla D. Spooner and a sister in law Donna Darby.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Linda Petterway; his children Ronnie Lyles, Tiawana Lyles, Violet Darby, George A. Darby, III (Tinicka) and Keisha Petterway; 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; his siblings Anthony Darby, Cassandra Darby, Felicia Thompkins (Carl), David Darby (Annette) and Sybil Counts (Ronald).
