George E. Davis Jr., 62, departed this world to join the Lord, on Mondy, April 22, 2024. Born in California on August 15, 1961, to Norma and George Davis Sr., the family later moved to Akron, Ohio, where he attended Akron Public Schools and East High School.
George was a people person and to know him was to love him. His younger days were filled with goodtime activities, hanging out and partying, but George transformed himself and his life with the birth of his grandchildren. He wanted to feed his grandbabies and speak life into their future. He made sure to spend as much quality time with his grandchildren as possible. He used this time to teach and inspire them to focus on their education, do well in school and stay away from the dead-end path of the streets. George's life is a testament to a man's ability to overcome his past and stand tall with strength of character.
He is preceded in by, grandparents, Augustas and Lily B. Davis, and Janie and Levass Atchison; parents, Norma and George Davis Sr.; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory; Wife, Gail Davis; sister, Leslie (Delon); daughters, Chavonne and Ayanah; grandchildren, Little Reggie, Raeneer, Dariyah and Dakayla; special friends, "brothers", Troy, Vernon, Scotty, and Todd.
As we mourn the loss of George E. Davis, we also celebrate a life full of love, strength, and courage. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
Memorial Services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Road, Akron, Oh 44320.
