Jeanette (Jet) Wallace gained her heavenly wings September 4, 2025. She was born August 7, 1962, to Emma Johnson and Sam Poole. Jeanette was a proud graduate of Buchtel High School (1040 Baby) class of 1980. She later went on to serve our country for 4 years with the U.S. Navy stationed in San Diego, CA. Where she met and married Edward Wallace. Their union gave birth to Brandon Wallace, her only child.
Jeanette loved to cook and shared many of her dishes online sharing with family and friends. In fact she and her sister Anita took it a step further and established Neet and Nets catering in Akron Ohio. Although stern and stubborn, her door was open to anybody that needed safe haven. Jeanette worked as an underwriter in the insurance business for over 20 years. In her final years of the beautiful life she's lived, she extended her open-door policy into other people's homes, providing health care for the elderly. Her life was full, well-traveled, full of endless laughs, and a million pair of shades (because you know she had to have her sunglasses) even in the dark.
Jeanette was preceded in death by mother, Emma Johnson; father, Sam Poole; stepmother, Lulabelle Poole; auntie, Emma Manuell; great nephews, Edjuan Poole and Ivory Langston Lewis IV (lil swag).
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her only child, Brandon Wallace (Jacalyn); granddaughter, Brielle Wallace; sisters, Anita Langston, Sonja Johnson; brother, Comerlee Poole; aunt, Jeanette Langston; niece, SaRoya Johnson; nephews Marcus, Ivory Lewis (April), Comerlee Poole Jr( Rachel), Great Niece Mia Lewis, Great Nephews Deion Walker, Marcus Lewis, Jr. and a host of family and friends. Bonus Sisters Karryll, Cheryl, Vanessa, Lori (Wells). Special thanks to Tiny Bussey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon at Sommerville Funeral Services, 1695 Diagonal Rd. Akron, Oh 44320. Memorial service will immediately follow.
