George Henry Depp

George Henry Depp,82, of Glasgow, KY passed away surrounded by his loved ones, Saturday, July, 12, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital. George was born in Glasgow, Kentucky on April 11, 1943, to the late Cobert Depp Sr. and the late Louise McMurtry Depp. George worked for many years at Glasgow Foods, but because of his size and strength, he was known for his ability to perform hard physical work. George was the one people looked to for digging ditches, graves, and working long days in the tobacco fields.

George loved the blues, and if you never heard him play on his harmonica, then you missed a treat. He'd whip it out of his back pocket and play his heart out. George has loved the ladies all his life and made sure he was always clean and neat and smelling good for them. If you asked him what he wanted you to bring him while he was in the nursing home, he'd say, "Get me some good-smelling cologne for my ladies in here, or some Little Debbie cakes to satisfy my sweet tooth." He loved all his caregivers at NHC Healthcare, and they loved him in return. He was very happy there.

George is survived by his sons, Nicholas L. Depp of West Liberty KY and Nicholas J. Moore of Bowling Green, KY; daughter, Carla Edeh of Lyndhurst, OH; grandchildren: Ndidi Edeh-Larburg (Derek), Blessing Edeh, Nkechi Edeh, Nnenne Edeh, Ugochukwu Edeh, and Brittany Depp all of Cleveland, OH as well as William Depp of Bowling Green, KY. He is also survived by his only remaining sibling, Anthony Depp(Brenda) of Glasgow, KY and he leaves behind a beloved nephew, Randy Alan Depp, who has loved and cared for him, and cherished their relationship. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, friends, and the staff at NHC, who took great care of him.

In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his son George Depp Jr.; daughter, Lisa Depp; granddaughter, Tashia Moore; grandson, Nicholas Depp; and siblings Lutisha Malone, Cobert Depp Jr. , Eva Depp, Lucian Depp, Stella Crenshaw, Rudolph Depp, Harry Depp, Milton Depp, and Maureen Barlow.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, July 18, 2025, at First Baptist Church with burial at Barlow Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, Thursday at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home and on Friday morning beginning at 9:00 AM until time for the service at the church.
