George W. Ehgotz Jr. of Hartland, MI, and current resident of Highland, MI, passed away in the late evening hours of Monday, August 25, 2025. He was 91 years old.

George was born in Amble, MI, on November 16, 1933, to parents George and Olive (nee. Nellis). He attended Hartland High School and received his GED in 1956.

He was a member of Grumlaw Church in Hartland and held a position on the Highland Township Planning commission in the 1970s.

George was a "country boy" at heart and as a young boy worked with many local farmers upon moving to Hartland in the 1940s. He was raised, for most of his formative years, in a converted modest one-room schoolhouse on Pleasant Valley Road in Hartland with two younger brothers, Duane and Bob.

George's entire career was with Ford Motor Company and retired in 1994. He began working at the carburetor factory in Milford and later held the position of Quality Control Engineer Representative in Rawsonville. He traveled around the world representing Ford Motor Company. George was a "jack of all trades" and applied his skills to helping friends and family with many projects, including moving and restoring an 1892 farmhouse in Hartland. He loved tractors, cars, and trucks; including the 1941 John Deere B that he restored. He enjoyed music of all types and always had a great sense of humor. Most of all, George loved God and his family.

George is survived by his children, Cece (Frank) West, Cathy (Pat) Ehgotz, Christine (Curt) Collins and Mark (Nu) Ehgotz; his grandchildren, Jason Hunter, Megan (Brent Carver) Pawelski, Margo Pawelski, Mark (Marissa) West, Courtney (Derek) Williams, Caitlyn (Reede) Burnett, Carisa (Meidan Pinyan) Collins, Evelyn Ehgotz, Ayden Ehgotz, Cece Ehgotz, Christopher Collins, Madison Collins, Isaac Box, Logan and Roxie; his numerous great-grandchildren; his brothers, Bob Ehgotz, and Duane (Mary) Ehgotz; son-in-law, Todd Cruttenden; step daughter, Anita (Peter) Tziahanas; step-grandchildren, Brittni Koelsch, Alivia Wells, and Thomas Tziahanas as well as many close friends and extended family members.

George was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred A. Ehgotz (d. 2016); his daughter, Cheryl Cruttenden (d. 2023), and the mother of his children Carol Toy, first wife (d. 2021).
