George Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. on Apr. 30, 2022.
Fishkill – George Bernard Evans, age 81, a resident of Fishkill for the past 10 years, passed away at home on April 26, 2022. He was born in the Bronx on December 26, 1940 to George and Aleida (Tardy) Evensen. On May 9, 1965, in the Bronx, he married his beloved wife Barbara Ann who survives him at home.
George was a Sergeant in the Pelham Manor Police Department for over 20 years. He then worked for Bank of New York in the Security Department with oversight over various branches, until his retirement in 2004. George also proudly served in the United States Army from 1960-1962, and then in the Army Reserves from 1962-1966.
He enjoyed carpentry, fly fishing, and going for rides on his motorcycle. He had great fun heading to the beach to go metal detecting, and finding all kinds of interesting items. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
Besides his beloved wife Barbara Ann Evans, George is also survived by his sons Christopher Evans (Joshua Garner) of New York, NY and Jonathan Evans (Jennifer) of Hopewell Junction, NY and daughter in law Patricia Bedard (son George predeceased 1965-2018) of Chappaqua, NY; grandchildren: AJ and Connor Evans of Chappaqua, NY, and Aiden, Tanner, Jordana and Willow Evans of Hopewell Junction, NY; sister Carole Jensen of Sun City Center, FL; niece Linda Marrone of Sun City Center, FL; as well as nine additional beloved nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and close friends will take place from 1-2pm on Sunday May 1, 2022, with a funeral service being held at 2pm at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main St, Fishkill, NY 12524.
