George S. Evans

Mr. George Stuart Evans, son of George and Evelyn, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, in Rockville Centre NY, at the age of 93. Born on January 12, 1932, in Brooklyn, NY, George lived a long and enriched life marked by deep faith, unwavering devotion to family, and a boundless curiosity for the world around him.
George was a man of remarkable intellect and diverse talents. A career lawyer with diverse interests spanning an impressive range – from golf and boating to woodworking and photography. He found joy in fishing and gardening, spent time reading and computing, and even took pleasure in baking and raising fish. His enthusiasm for learning never waned, and his quirky sense of humor brought warmth and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him. A devoted husband, George shared 63 loving years with his wife Lorraine. Together they built a strong foundation rooted in faith and family. He was a proud father to George Jr., Thomas (with Danielle), Elizabeth (with Gerard), and Bryan (with Karen). His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Nicholas (with Morgan), Charles (with Mia), Meghan (with Jeffrey), Joseph, Michael, Molly, and Morgan. He was also blessed with great grandchildren Everly, Arthur, Henry, Cameron and Theodore. George is also survived by his beloved sister Jane Harris.
Faith played a central role in George's life. A dedicated parishioner of St. Agnes Cathedral, he never missed a Sunday Mass and held a special devotion to the Rosary. He raised his children in the Catholic faith with steadfast commitment and led by example through his spiritual courage and moral clarity.
George's life was defined by love – for God, for family, for friends – and by an enduring sense of purpose. He approached each day with a pleasant conviction. Those who knew him will remember not only his intelligence but also the joy he brought into every room with his unique charm.

A Visitation will be held on December 15, 2025, from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Macken Mortuary, 52 Clinton Ave., Rockville Centre, NY. A funeral mass will be held on December 16, 2025, at 9:45 AM at St. Agnes Cathedral, 29 Quealy Place, Rockville Centre NY.
