George Guenther, age 73, passed away on July 1, 2025, in Lansing, Michigan. He was born on July 5, 1951 in Antigo a son of Jeanine (Guenther) Marquette and the late George Guenther.
He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, a testament to his courage and commitment to the values of duty and honor. Following his military service, he continued to serve his fellow veterans as a finance officer for the American Legion Post #183, where he was also a dedicated member.
Survivors include his mother, Jeanine Marquette; a daughter, Amanda "Mandy" Suthers; sisters, Lori Krueger, Mary Guenther, and Patricia Rougeot; brothers, Daniel (Vickie) Guenther, David Guenther, and Robert Guenther; and a step-sister, Mary Samz. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including Travis (Danielle) Guenther, Crystal (Scot) Schleisman (daughter Tatem), Johnny Tackitt, Robert Rougeot, Brian Shields, Angela Donath, Kara (Shane Ksobiech) Krueger (children Aleah, Aubree, Max, and Maverick Ksobiech), Dustin (Cheyenne) Krueger (son Landon and soon-to-arrive daughter Quinn).
He is preceded in death by his father, George Guenther; and brothers, Bernard and Thomas Guenther.
Graveside service with Military Honors will be Tuesday, August 12 at 12 p.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Aniwa. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of George, please visit our Tree Store.
