It is with profound sorrow and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of George Jermaine Hayes, Sr., a beloved radio personality and cherished member of the Augusta community. Born on December 23, 1987, in Augusta, Georgia, George's life came to a close on May 6, 2025, in the very city that nurtured his spirit and talent.
George was a vibrant and dynamic presence on the airwaves as a DJ for Foxie 103 radio station, where his voice resonated with listeners and brought joy to countless individuals. His passion for music and connection with his audience elevated him as a unique figure within the radio landscape, embodying the heart and soul of his beloved Augusta.
George leaves behind a loving legacy in the form of his children, Jaqueline Hayes, George Hayes, Jamiyra Hayes, Jayden Hayes, Gabriel Hayes, Zendayah Hayes, Trinya Avery, Paris Eaves, and Carter Eaves. Each of them carries a part of his spirit forward, enriched by the love and wisdom bestowed upon them. He is also survived by his siblings, Mario Hayes, Doree (Jerrell) Hayes, Marquel Hayes, and Marquet Hayes, who, along with him, shared countless memories and familial bonds that will forever be celebrated.
In addition to his immediate family, George's circle of influence extended to numerous friends, including Shavonne Darrien, Gabriel Dorsey, and Brandy Terrell, each of whom experienced the warmth of his character and the enthusiasm he brought to life. His godfather, Willie Rahney, Sr., stood as a guiding figure in his life, nurturing his growth and dreams.
While the loss of George is immeasurable, particularly felt in the absence of his child, Jalen Hayes, who predeceased him, his memory will resonate through the hearts of those he touched and the legacy he left.
