George Holder Obituary
Born on December 16, 1950 in Bennettsville, SC, George lived a full life as a dedicated husband, father, and will be lovingly remembered by his community in Greenville, South Carolina, where he resided at the time of his death.
George earned two bachelor's degrees from Georgia Southern and Clemson University.
He thrived in the mechanical and design engineering field for over 30 years.
During his leisure time, George was happiest chasing new adventures, mastering new skills, & pushing machinery to the limits of civilized people.
George's legacy will be cherished by his beloved wife, Virginia Anne Turner Holder, children, Katherine A. Holder and Thomas R. Holder, and a brother, Robert E. Holder.
George was predeceased by his parents, George Thomas Holder, Sr. & Dorothy Jane Gilmore Holder.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate George's life on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, 639 N. Main St., Greenville, SC 29601.
George Holder will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends who wish to show support may send a memorial donation to:
