George Leonard Jones Jr.

George L. Jones Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother, passed away on November 20, 2025, in Toano, Virginia. Born on March 10, 1963, in Dickson, Tennessee, he lived a life filled with love, laughter, and dedication. He was 62 years old.

George was the cherished son of Glynda Sue Jones (Burris) and the late George L. Jones Sr. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa E. Jones, who was his partner in every adventure and joy. Together, they built a loving family that will carry on his legacy.

He was a proud father to Adam L. Jones and Rachel L. Jones, who remember him as a guiding light and constant support. His grandchildren, Abigail Jones and Bryce Jones, were the apples of his eye, and he took immense pleasure in spoiling them at every opportunity. George is also survived by his brother, Tracey Jones.

George's professional life was marked by his expertise and dedication as a Senior Field Application Specialist and having worked at Roche Diagnostics.

An alumnus of Columbus College, George obtained a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, which laid the foundation for his successful career. His passion for learning and innovation was evident in all he pursued.

In his leisure, George was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace and joy in fishing, hiking, and woodworking. He had a knack for tinkering and was often found perfecting a project in his workshop. His love for grilling and smoking meat delighted family and friends, creating lasting memories over shared meals. Above all, George loved spoiling his wife, children, and grandchildren, and spending time with his dogs, who brought him endless happiness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 25th, at 4 PM, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a man whose life touched so many.
