George Albert Kangas Sr.

George Albert Kangas Sr.,80 years old of Daytona Beach, Fl passed away on July 2, 2022, peacefully after a long battle with Kidney and Heart disease.
He was the son of Walt and Dorothy Kangas (both deceased) from Hubbardston, Massachusetts. After his stint in the Coast Guard on the USCG Evergreen, he went back to school at Embry- Riddle Aeronautical University majoring in Engineering. He loved both Flying, Amateur Radio and Law Enforcement.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 120, and at one time he was involved in the Daytona Eagles and Moose. He was an active member of Weak Signal Society, the US Coast Guard Amateur Radio Net and the Lighthouse Association. He worked at different Nuclear Power Plants all across the United States as an engineer and planner.
He was survived by his spouse, Deloris Ann Kangas. His surviving children, his son George Kangas Jr. and wife Lori Kangas, His Daughters, Kim Kangas and Karen Kelley and husband Richard Kelley. His stepdaughter Stacy McIntire and husband Shawn McIntire. His stepson Donald Sutphin Jr. and Wife Jessica Sutphin. He also had 12 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
There will be a full military service July 12, 2022, at Baldwin-Brothers funeral home at 1185 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Viewing will be at 9:30 with the service to start at 10:30 am. The American Legion Post 120 will do the honors immediately after the service ends. He will be buried at 1pm at Canaveral National Cemetery at 5525 US-1 Mims Florida with a Coast Guard Honor Guard.
We are asking for donations in George's name to the Halifax Humane Society instead of flowers. George was a big lover of animal and supported them.
