George William Kret of Cabot, Arkansas, passed away at the VA Hospital at Little Rock, Arkansas on November 9, 2024 @ 4:15pm.
George was born in Fort Worth, Texas on March 17, 1954. He was born to Frank and Mattie Kret. Joining the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. Later he joined the United States Navy. During his Military service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal; Sharpshooter (Rifle) – Army; Army Good Conduct Award; 3 Navy Good Conduct Award; 2 National Defense Service Medal; USCG Special Operations Ribbon; 7 Overseas Service Ribbon; Battle 'E'; Meritorious Unit Commendation; Presidential Unit Citation; M16 Sharpshooter Ribbon; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon. George retired from the Navy as an E6 Journeyman's Electrician November 01, 1994.
George met the love of his life & soulmate, Kelley Hatch, in the summer of 1976. Mutual friends introduced her. They were married on August 07, 1982. Their son, Christopher was born in 1984 and another son, Jeremy to follow in 1988. George loved family.
George received a Specialized associate's degree Computer/Electronics Technology on October 23, 1997.
George loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, the beach was some of his favorite pastimes. George, a friend to everyone, did not know a stranger. George touched many lives; he may be gone but will not be forgotten.
George "Ricochet" is an Active Member of the THUNDER-HEADS M/C Forever Chapter.
George is survived by his loving wife Kelley of 42 years, his son Christopher Kret; daughter-in-law Leann Kret; two grandsons Noah Kret and Rowan Kret of Bebee, Arkansas. Mother-in-law Shirley Hatch of Cabot, Arkansas. Beth Bach of Jacksonville, Arkansas. Sisters Martha Taylor and Diana Briseno of Bakersfield, California, and several nieces. Last but not least his beloved pets: Devon Dingus McGee who rarely left his side and Harley Davidson.
George is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kret Sr, and Mattie Wilson; brothers Charles Kret, Frank Kret Jr; sister, Frances Mack; father-in-law, Harrel D Hatch Sr; son Jeremy R Kret.
Friday, November 22, 2024, at 9:00am will be visitation and services will start at 10:00am at A Natural State Funeral Service, 2620 W Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas. Procession will start about 11:20am proceeding to AR State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 W. Maryland Ave. NLR, Arkansas 72120.
