George C. Lassman, 84, of Erie, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 5, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center. He was born in Erie on February 11, 1941, son of the late Walter and Leona (Rudolph) Lassman.
George was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and had seen many parts of the world. He did several apprenticeships and held various titles in the manufacturing sector from Reed Manufacturing to General Electric, and retired as the Die Shop Supervisor at Kaiser Aluminum.
George was also owner of The Broken Inn, where he amassed many good friends. He was most recently employed as security at Erie City Hall, where he was known and loved by all as "Mr. George". He enjoyed history, reading and bowling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Lassman; a sister, Shirley Chase; and his son-in-law, Mark Kerner.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lassman and her sons, Matthew Jude (Jennifer), Mario Mezzacapo (Anna), Moose Mezzacapo (Andrea). He is further survived by his daughters, Lisa Kerner, Laura Buckel (Robert), and Lynn Netkowicz (Shawn); and 13 grandchildren. His brother, James Lassman; and sister, Ruth (Robert) Huster also survive as well as a circle of extended family and friends who will forever treasure his memory.
