George E. Letourneau, 77, of Sterling, MA, passed away on August 22, 2025 at UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, MA, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on June 5, 1948, in Southbridge, MA, the oldest child of Louis and Loretta (Farland) Letourneau.

George leaves his devoted wife of 23 years, Mary (Obara) Letourneau and his two cats, Page and Simba. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn Sinni and husband, Paolo, of Dudley, his brother Conrad and wife, Paula, of Southbridge. He leaves two nieces, Angela Marshall and Kristin Clifford, two nephews, Steven Sinni and Craig Letourneau.

George attended Devry University in Chicago majoring in Computer Science. He went on to earn a Bachelors' Degree of Applied Science in Business Administration from Boston University.

A proud Army Veteran, George served his country during the Vietnam War as a Satellite Communications Specialist.

Following his military service, George began a successful 23-year career as a Software Engineer at Digital Equipment Corp (DEC). At DEC, he taught advanced level software courses to IT professionals from around the world. George later went on to work for Hewlett Packard Corp., where he did high-level troubleshooting for major customers. From 2006-2011 George worked at EMC Corp. in the Educational Services Division. Later on, he moved to CRM Consulting Services to work on individual projects.

George's most treasured moments were those he spent with family and friends. He loved family gatherings, especially for holidays and special occasions. George was a lifelong animal lover and strong supporter of animal rescue. Over the years, he adopted many dogs and cats; too many to name. He loved to travel and enjoyed many wonderful vacations with Mary, especially to Hawaii and Alaska. A motorcycle enthusiast, George loved riding along the back roads of New England in the summertime with his friend, Dean. George was an accomplished woodworker, skilled marksman, and fan of the New England Patriots.
