George Melikian Sr.

George Melikian Sr., 87, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at Hope Health surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Victoria (LeFrancois) Melikian. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Barsam and Sarah (Nazarian) Melikian.
George was the beloved father of George Melikian Jr., Gregory Melikian, Donna M. Melikian, and Terrie A. Melikian. He was the loving grandpa to four grandchildren, and the loving great-grandpa to five great-grandchildren. George was the brother of Thelma Swider, Anna Sahagian, and the late Varant Melikian. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
George was the manager of the former Miller's Delicatessen in Pawtucket before moving to Concord, NH. He was the owner and operator of Ordway's Delicatessen for 10 years before moving back to Rhode Island.
He was a car enthusiast, buying new cars every two years including Cadillacs, convertibles, and Corvettes. He prided himself in hand washing all of them.
A private funeral service for immediate family only will be held Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 10:30am in the Thomas & Walter Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. He will be laid to rest with his late wife Victoria in The North Burial Ground, Providence.
