George Moellendorf

George Edward Moellendorf, age 81, of West Haven, Utah, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, surrounded by his beloved family.
George was born to Selmer and Helen Berg on August 10, 1943, in Wilbur, Washington. He was raised in Brigham City, Utah, by his parents, George and Helen Moellendorf, along with his siblings, Georgiana Davis and Jeff Moellendorf. George loved growing up in Brigham and cherished summers spent in Camp Crook, South Dakota, with his Berg family. His life was full of family and friends, and he was deeply grateful for each of them.
He lived a life rooted in devotion, humility, and quiet strength. George graduated from Weber State College in May 1974 with a bachelor's degree in marketing. Early in his career, he worked in construction before beginning a long and dedicated tenure at Hill Air Force Base, where he faithfully served for 43 years before retiring.
On October 20, 1966, George married the love of his life, Vikki Ball. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 30, 1971, for time and all eternity. Together, they raised five children: George was a proud grandfather to 18 grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, George served in many callings over the years, including as an ordinance worker in the Ogden Utah Temple for six years. His quiet faith and steady example inspired all who knew him.
George is survived by his wife, Vikki, their five children: Kip (Laraine) Moellendorf, Jorjet (Jayson) Nielson, Maile (Casey) Melaney, Jade Moellendorf, Brock (Cassie) Moellendorf, seven siblings, and 18 grandchildren.
He was known for his kind and uplifting nature, never speaking poorly of others. His gentle presence, strong character, and enduring influence will be deeply missed.
In his spare time, George enjoyed restoring old cars and spending time on the golf course-hobbies that reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, and life's simple pleasures.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025:
• A graveside service for family and close friends will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT 84403.
• That evening, a Celebration of Life will occur at 4100 W. 900 S., Ogden, Utah 84404, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All are welcome.
• 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.: Sharing Favorite Memories of George
• 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: Open House – Come greet and support the family
George Moellendorf leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and humility. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
