George David Myers, 89, of Mount Vernon, OH, passed away Wednesday September 6th, 2023 at home with his loving wife and son Joshua Myers. George was born September 2nd, 1934 in Toledo, OH, to George Paul and Mary Madline {Smith} Myers.
He was married to Mallory Ann Dubois.
Born without riches or birthright and little known, he was discerning, without position or pretense. He worked hard at everything he did. Life to him was a world of absolutes, either “black or white,” right or wrong. He was loyal, like someone you would want at your back in a fight. He will be remembered as a profoundly good man, a loving husband, a practicing Christian, dear father, and a good soldier. He served the Army both overseas and at home from 1955 to 1960 attaining the rank of SP5.
George will be deeply missed by his wife; children Maria, George, Tony, Melissa, Joshua, David and step-daughter, Shellee Lyn Cooper. George was preceded in death by his parents and sister Joyce Myers.
Burial will be later at the Dayton National Cemetery where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Vernon Salvation Army 206 E. Ohio Ave, Mount Vernon, OH 43050
