George “Jack” Napier, 85, Vinton, Ohio, passed away December 24, 2025 at Abbyshire Place, Bidwell, Ohio. He was born to the late Claude and Ruth (Farley) Napier on April 18, 1940, in Kitts, Kentucky. George went to night school and graduated from Whitehall Yearling High School in 1967. He worked at Western Electric, Columbus, Ohio and retired after 35 years of employment. The company was called Lucent Technology at the time of his retirement. Besides having a loving family, he enjoyed mowing grass and making things from wood. He also enjoyed spending time with grandchildren, fishing, hunting, passing ball and going to the beach.
George is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce Ann; two devoted daughters, Kimberly and Jerrold Knight and Patricia and Tracy Stump; six grandchildren: Julie (Josh) Spriggs, Jeremy (Jennifer) Knight, Gregory (Amber) Knight, Joshua (Hattie) Stump, Jennifer (Jake) Higginbotham and Justin (Jaden) Stump; ten great-grandchildren: Nicholas and Nathan Spriggs, Jared Knight, Isabella Knight, Aubree, Laikyn, Gabe and Braxton Stump, and Kennedy and Parker Higginbotham. A blended family of brothers and sisters, including a special sister Claudine, who loved her brother dearly.
In addition to his parents those preceded him in death were a sister, Joyce Scott and brother, Donald Napier.
Funeral service will be held 12:30 PM, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at the McCoy-Moore Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel with Pastor Jamie Gruber officiating. Family and friends may call on the family beginning at 11:00 AM, to the time of service. Burial will follow in Silver Ridge Cemetery, Reedsville, Ohio.
