George Leslie Oleman, 83, of Wyandotte Oklahoma passed away on October 16, 2023, at his home with his family at his side.
George was born August 22, 1940, in Stafford, KS to Carl and Edith Oleman. He was later adopted by Earl and Lethine Oleman at the age of 8. George attended and graduated from Wyandotte High School class of 1959. He joined the Navy in 1962 serving our country as a postman aboard the destroyer escort "USS John Willis" (DE 1027) and other ships until 1966. George worked at the Goodrich Plant in Miami for 19 years as an "East End" until the plant closed. He then worked as an over-the-road Truck Driver for CFI in Joplin for 6 years and ended up going to work for the Ottawa County District #2 as a heavy equipment operator where he retired after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Two Rivers Baptist Church of Miami where he served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher spreading the word of God. George loved to hunt, fish, and work in his garden when he wasn't working on the farm and raising hogs. George also loved boating and was an accomplished swimmer. George was a proud owner of many loyal English Bulldogs who was by his side until the very end.
George Leslie Oleman was married to Linda Sue Hollandsworth on December 7, 1963, in Vinita, Oklahoma. George and Linda spent the rest of their lives building a home for their children and a life for each other. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Edith Oleman and Earl and Lethine Oleman, and sister Deeva Christie.
Survivors include his wife Linda Oleman of Wyandotte, OK; daughter Leslie Patton and spouse Paul of Wyandotte, OK; 2 sons, Phillip Oleman and spouse Michelle, and Paul Oleman of Wyandotte, OK; brother Glenn Oleman of Bixby, OK; one sister, Earlene White, Grove, OK; a multitude of nieces and nephews with 9 grandchildren; Kayla, Bailey, Codi, Caleb, Hannah, Ashley, Nicole, Dutch and Dalton and 15 great-grandchildren to carry on his legacy.
Visitation, under the direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held from 6-7 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023. Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM, October 21, 2023, at Seneca Cemetery with Pastor Rick Thomas officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Codi Oleman, Caleb Oleman, Tyler Wyrick, Tom Garrettson, Scott Barnes, and Rowdy Cooper.
