George John Panagopoulos

WEATHERFORD, TEXAS - With great sadness, George John Panagopoulos or also known as "Yodi," 58, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, to a tragic event at home.
Services: 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2023, at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2020 NW 21st St., Fort Worth, Texas, 76164. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Wake: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023, in Mount Olivet Chapel.
Following the interment, a luncheon will take place at St. Demetrios Church Hall. All family and friends are welcomed to attend.
George was born on November 22, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas, to parents, John George Panagopoulos and Coula Stratigo Panagopoulos. He grew up living in Haltom City, Texas, but eventually moved to Weatherford, Texas. In 1995, George married his wife, Alysia Denaye.
George was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend to many. He was so loved by his family and everyone who knew him. He left a huge footprint on this earth.
His last 10 years were full of pain, through battling the effects cancer had taken on his body. However, he still found joy in his family, beloved cows and last but not least his fishing.
As the saying goes, his pain has finally ended. It's those of us left behind that have to find a way through ours.
George is preceded in death by his parents, John George and Coula Stratigo.
Survivors: Loving wife of 29 years, Alysia Denaye Panagopoulos; sons, John Tanner and wife, Savannah Rose, and Steven George; sister, Christine Panagopoulos; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He will be missed and loved forever.
