George Pedro, born Joseph G.F. Pedro, passed away on November 3, 2022. He was 78 years of age. He will be remembered most for his dedication to and love of family. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an Assistant Crew Chief Maintenance Officer during the Vietnam War, receiving accolades for quality inspection and safe flights with no aborts. He was terminal manager for several trucking companies. He ended his trucking career as owner of Elmwood Transportation Services Inc in East Bridgewater. He was a real estate broker, insurance agent, and at retirement began driving charter coaches. He enjoyed the camaraderie with his coworkers and the kindness of his passengers. He was a ham operator for many years and enjoyed events at the top of Mount Washington and the Marconi site with fellow ham operators. George embraced gun safety education and was a member of local gun clubs, sportsman clubs, fishing clubs, and a past member of the Kiwanis Club in East Bridgewater. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He loved camping with his family, fishing, boating, skeet shooting, and traveling throughout New England. Known for his quiet strength, quick wit, and spot-on Donald Duck impression, he will be deeply missed.
Beloved husband of Maureen (Martin) Pedro of East Bridgewater. Devoted father of George Alan Pedro of Attleboro and Lionel Pedro of Mexico. Loving brother of Dorothy Breton and her husband Bruce of Wareham and shared a special bond with sister-in-law Barbara Cassavoy and her husband Michael of Melrose. Dear Maureen
I recently shared with George that while in my 8th grade I wrote an essay about him and his Air Force service. We had a good chuckle. He was a kind man and in addition to other accolades he was really good to his mom too. So sorry for your loss. Mike & Gloria
