George Perry was born on September 7, 1927 in Tyler, Alabama, one of seven children to the late Nathan Perry and Rosa Rudolph Perry. George accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in Tyler, Alabama.
He was educated in the Tyler, Alabama School District. He served in the United Sates Army and was honorably discharged in 1955.
He later met and married Irene Bell on May 12, 1984 in Cleveland, Ohio. They were blessed with 31 years of marriage until the Lord called her home in 2015.
George was a member of Peace Baptist Church and served faithfully until his health began to fail. He was also a Mason and was a member of The Prince Hall Masonic Temple.
George retired from the United States Government after many years of service.
He loved to fish and cook for his family and friends. His favorite dishes to cook were home made rolls and peach cobbler. He also enjoyed watching baseball; especially the "Cleveland Indians".
A special thank you to Harmony Hospice and the Woodside Village staff for the love and care that was shown to Mr. Perry.
He leaves to cherish his memory one brother Wence Perry (Anita) and one sister Mary Emma Finch. Three daughters: Catherine Anglen (Kenneth), Arnetta Bell, and Irene R. Bell and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Willie Dale, Bertha Headd, and Wonza Wilkerson. One brother Nathan Perry, Jr.
