George Thomas Perry, Jr., of
Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024, with his family by his side. He was 63 years old. Born in Abington, Pa on November 22, 1961, he was the proud son of the late George Thomas, Sr. and Gladys (Hopkins) Perry.
George was a lifelong resident of Langhorne, having graduated from Maple Point High School in 1980. He went on to attend MTA Trucking School, where he found a real passion for the industry working for various companies such as Echo Waste, Rohrer, Gorilla Trucking, Tinari, and Lima Trucking, as well as mentoring to numerous individuals for their future in trucking. Most recently he was employed with Harrison Brothers Paving.
Throughout his career, he developed many close friendships and had a reputation as a dedicated, diligent, and dependable colleague and friend. Most important to George was his family, he enjoyed entertaining and doting on his two granddaughters. George recently celebrated a wedding anniversary on December 20th with the love of his life and best friend, Jacqueline Horton-Perry, after having been together over 37 years.
George was a man of strong faith and an active member of First Baptist Church of Langhorne, where he did building maintenance for decades. You would often find George repairing and modifying his motorcycles, trucks, cars essentially anything with a motor in his garage.
George would never hesitate to stop and chat with anyone whether that was for five minutes or five hours. George loved to share his passion for life through his stories.
George will be forever loved and eternally missed by his family and his wide array of friends throughout the region.
George was preceded in death by parents George Thomas, Sr. and Gladys Perry, his sister Cathy Meggett. George leaves behind to cherish his memory, a loving wife, Jacqueline, a devoted son George "Thomas", III (Elizabeth) his beloved granddaughters, Alice and Ivy, and his brother, Paul Hopkins (Joan).
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Melissa and Amy from Amedisys Hospice, all his family, friends, and neighbors for their unwavering support, and Harrison Brothers Paving for allowing him to drive until he physically could not.
Family and friends are invited to George's Life Celebration on Monday, January 6, 2025, from 5:00-6:30pm at First Baptist Church of Langhorne, 215 E Richardson Ave,
Langhorne, PA 19047. His Funeral Service will follow at 6:30pm.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 10:30am at Mount Gilead AME Church Cemetery, 1940 Holicong Rd, New Hope, PA 18938 followed by a repast at First Baptist Church of Langhorne.
