George Glynn Phillips

George Glynn Phillips, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025. Born on May 22, 1954, in Atlanta, Georgia, Glynn was raised in Stockbridge, Georgia where he developed the strong values and work ethic that guided him throughout his life. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career in the building industry, retiring from the Henry County Board of Commissioners as a building and plan review chief building inspector, where his dedication and professionalism left a lasting impact.
Glynn was the son of the late Walter George Phillips and Emily Ernestine Mitchell Phillips. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Van Edward Phillips.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Lee Watkins Phillips, and his loving children: Chris (Becca) Phillips, Eric (Patti) Phillips, and Laurie (Chris) Coker. He was a cherished grandfather to Crystal (Drew) Longshore, Austin Phillips, Ashlyn (Cole) Turner, Judah Phillips, Cody Piner, Emily Piner, Liam Phillips, Layla Phillips, Brylee Coker, Brinson Coker, Westin Longshore, Mackenzie Longshore, and Ellie Longshore.
Glynn is also survived by his brother Steve Phillips, sister-in-law Toni Phillips, Brothers-in-law: Jack (Sue) Watkins, Tommy Watkins, Marvin (Juli) Walden, extended family members and dear friends who were touched by his kindness and warmth.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Southern Grace Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Bethel Methodist Church, 245 Fairview Road, Stockbridge, Georgia, 30281. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm followed by a service from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm.
