George Polley Obituary
George C. Polley, 89, Wausau passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
He was born June 2, 1936, in Ringle, son of the late Otto and Mary (Wilk) Polley. On June 2, 1962, he married Beverly Steppert at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2022.
George was the dedicated owner of Wisconsin Crane Service in Wausau. In his early years he enjoyed hunting, car collecting and also owned a wrecker service in Wausau.
George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his sons, Jason and Timothy Polley, Wausau, his grandchildren, Lucy, Grace and Sophia, his sister, Geraldine Guillaume and several nieces and nephews.
George was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four children, Jeffery, Todd, George Jr., Jody Polley and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Tigerton. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, 1302 Sixth Street and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
