George H. Rabideau, 83, of Sebring, Florida, died Saturday, April 6 2024 at his home in Florida with his beloved wife Joanne and his two daughters, Kathy, and Melissa at his side. He was born on January 11, 1941, the son of George Arthur and Ruth Rabideau.
George is survived by his wife Joanne of 63 years, daughters Kathy Garrant, (husband Jimmy), Melissa Deno, brothers John, (wife Bernie) and Rodney, (wife Betty), along with 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Keith.
George was at his best when he was helping others in his many volunteer activities, having served for more than 25 years in the West Chazy Fire Department both as a volunteer fireman and as a EMT in the ambulance squad. George was involved for many years as a member of the Lions Club including that of District Governor in 1998-1999 and serving with the Lions Club International, traveling both in the United States, England, and Japan to conferences and meetings. George was a valued volunteer at his Florida home, Buttonwood Bay, serving on many committees.
When George was not volunteering or helping others with a project, he enjoyed camping, fishing on Lake Champlain and in his earlier years, riding his motorcycle. After moving to Buttonwood Bay, George enjoyed traveling and taking cruises.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in West Chazy. A Mass will follow at 10:00am.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
