Myrtle "Myrt" Lorene Rabideau, age 92, of Cass City, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Satchell's Christian Retirement Home.

Myrtle was born August 2, 1933 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Francis and Myrtle (Hill) Sowden. On November 7, 1953 she married Dean Rabideau. Myrtle was a former telephone operator at General Telephone, cashier at the Ben Franklin and crossing guard for Cass City Public Schools. Myrtle enjoyed crossword and word search, playing bingo, feeding birds, coffee and wine gatherings with many friends and neighbors who dropped by the house to visit, garage sales and shopping.

Myrtle is survived by her son Dallas (Lynn) Rabideau of Cass City, a brother, David Sowden of Almont, sister-in-laws, Judy Rabideau of Mayville, Betsy Sowden-Mellendorf of Vassar, Nancy Miller of Lapeer and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother, Genevieve "Jenny" (Lester) Kappen, siblings, Delores Karr Baker, Clifford (Glenna) Sowden, Morris Sowden, twin brother, Marshall Sowden, Nancy Lee Brown, Donald Sowden, Billy Sowden, Mason Spencer and Wayne Spencer and grandparents William and Emma Moore, Jessie and Lona Sowden, brother and sister-in-laws, Wayne (Mary), Leland (Shirley), Robert (Vivian), Dale (Delores) Patrick (Mary), and Eldon Rabideau, Marcella (Clark) Seeley, Velma Helwig, Dale Mellendorf and Patricia Sowden.

Visitation is Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM. Friday, from 10 AM until 11 AM the time of service at Thabet Funeral Home, 6255 Main St. Cass City, MI. Burial will be in Elkland Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family for use at their discretion.
