George A. Rood, 93, of Mexico, NY, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025. Born in Williamstown, NY, on December 16, 1931, George lived a long and meaningful life devoted to family, community, and hard work.

He also spent 15 years as an electrician at General Electric, where his skills, integrity, and work ethic earned him the respect of his peers. He was also a proud Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge and worked several seasons at Behling's Apple Orchard in Mexico.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty A. Rood, and their children: Timothy (Deborah) Rood, Daniel Rood (predeceased), Denise Seeley, Mark (Sheryl) Rood. George was a cherished grandfather to Kevin Rood, Tracy Rood, Monica (Josh) Coe, Megan (Michael) Forbes, Justin (Cara) Rood, and Zachary Rood. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Brianna and Blaire Coe, Genesis, Gabrielle, Gideon, and Gaius Rood, and Colin and Bryson Forbes.
