George A. Ryan Jr.

BLACKSTONE - George A. Ryan, Jr. age 84, of Blackstone, died at home on May 13, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Elaine S. (Joanis) Ryan for 63 years.

George was born on December 14, 1937 in Woonsocket, the son of the late George A. Ryan, Sr. and Lillian (Ellis) Ryan. He lived in Blackstone for the last 45 years.

He proudly served the in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

George worked at Wrentham State Developmental Center as direct care staff until his retirement.

He achieved as Associate's Degree from University of Maryland.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Stephen Ryan of North Attleboro, Lester Ryan of Springfield, Laura Ryan and her husband Jason Morgan of Woonsocket, RI; his grandchildren: Jared Ryan and his companion Breanna St. Laurent of Woonsocket, RI, Emily Ryan of North Attleboro, Ryan Garneau of Harrisville, RI and Teagan Ryan of North Attleboro; great-grandchildren: Adriel Ryan and Lennox Ryan; siblings: Nancy Peloquin of NH, Linda Fleury and her husband Richard of RI and Wayne Ryan of RI; and many loving nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son: Dennis Sean Ryan and his siblings: Terry Ryan and Peggy Ryan.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, May 19th from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main Street, Uxbridge. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 77 Mendon Street, Uxbridge.
Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
