George Evan Sablack of Fort Worth, TX, and Sharpsville, PA, died September 18, 2024, at the age of 91.
George was born May 18, 1933 in Sharon, PA, to Anthony and Catherine Sablack, the second child in a family of eight.
After his graduation from East Liverpool High School in OH, he joined the U.S. Navy and served honorably during the Korean War. He was very proud of his world travels during his naval career, including his experiences crossing the equator multiple times. A man with a strong work ethic and desire to provide for his family, after his military experience, he worked in leadership positions at GATX, Trinity Industries and the HEB School District. George was many things to many people, but was always proud to be a devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, even during the rough years.
George is survived by his wife Rosemary (Jovenall) Sablack and four children, Fred Gill Sablack (wife, Gayle) of Sharon, PA, Dan Anthony Sablack of Hermitage, PA, Raymond Anthony Sablack (widower of Tommy Marion) of Dallas, TX and Megan Sablack Bozarth (husband, Joe) of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Brooke, Kara, Lynne, Rebecca, Jacob and Brewer, and great-grandchildren Ricky, Levi and Jashe; siblings, Lillian Sablack, Mary Martha "Marti" Coghlan, and Antonette "Toni" Sablack; and multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his younger brothers David and Sam, his sisters Helen and Mildred (Millie), and first wife Mildred Elizabeth Gill.
During the last weeks of his life, George was happy to be surrounded by his loving wife, Rosie, with whom he shared almost 50 years of marriage, and all of his children. His witty banter and family stories will be missed and remembered fondly.
