George L Shade, Sr., 100, was born on December 5, 1923, and left this world on July 21, 2024, at Phoebe Berks in Wernersville. He was a man of honor, courage, and unwavering dedication.

George proudly served his country for 20 years as a United States Marine Veteran, bravely fulfilling his duty during WWII and Korea. His commitment to his service was exemplary and inspiring to all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Max, who is the husband of Lorraine Shade. In addition, he is survived by his daughter-in-law Kimberly A. (Isett) Shade. George will be deeply missed by his grandchildren - Niki Traynor, Jonathon, husband of Amy Shade, Joshua Shade, and Melissa Shade. His great-grandchildren - Jaylyn, Evan, Samuel, Dominic, Lucas and Aubree - brought immense joy to George's life.

In loving memory, George is reunited with his beloved wife Mary (Skippus) Shade and their son George L. Shade, Jr. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew them.

The services to honor George's life will take place at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church located at 504 Summit Ave in Reading. A Viewing will be held on August 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Mass at11:00 AM.
