George Anne "Dodi" Sherman, 72, of Erie, PA, passed away comfortably at her home on Saturday, November 16, 2024 after a long and courageous fight against cancer. Until the end, Dodi never lost her bright and feisty spirit, nor did she lose her love for cheeseburgers.
Dodi was born on September 25th, 1952 in Erie, PA to Martha and George Burroughs.
Dodi was a waitress at both Barney's and Ricardo's for many years. She loved her job and the people she worked with who quickly became family. She was an avid lover of books, cats, and the San Francisco 49ers. But, most of all, she loved her family.
Dodi is survived by her husband of 46 years, Lonnie Sherman; her three children, Melanie (John) Trinchitella, Justin (Danielle) Burroughs and Cody (Korie) Sherman; her seven grandchildren, Anthony (Jill), Amelia, Jade, Ethan, Kellen, Tone and Chloe; and her great-grandchild, Brayden. Dodi is also survived by five loving sisters, Jean, Amy, Debi, Judy, and Jan; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Dodi was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and George Burroughs; her brother, George Burroughs Jr.; and her son, Philip Sherman.
In lieu of a funeral, a celebration of life will be planned in 2025 at the family's convenience. Arrangements are being handled by the Dusckas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd.

Sissy, it's taken me awhile to write because I am heart broken. We have spent so much time together between having our wedding at your house, many wine fest almost every year for your birthday, you stopping in to work when you went to the bank, going to cirque du soleil, the Nut Cracker at the Warner, Big ships with the kids and us taking care of Mom. We got to spend so much time together plus so much more. I will forever love and miss you Dodi

This mini train ride & dinner was an amazing time with Dodi. We have shared so many special moments watching our Grandchildren grow up. Dodi will be missed, but Heaven has gained an Angel to watch over our Grandchildren.
