George Sobczyk Jr.

George Sobczyk, Jr., age 84, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at his residence in Brunswick, Ohio. He was born March 26, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late George and Stella (nee Stavash) Sobczyk, Sr. George graduated from Highland High School in 1960. He worked as a machinist at Swagelok in Valley City, Ohio for 38 years. George enjoyed playing pool, taking trips to casinos and belonging to the Brunswick Eagles, Aerie 3505. He was a member of North Royalton Christian Church.

Left to remember George's life is his loving siblings, Walter M. Sobczyk, Barbara Hale, Dorothy Wilson, nieces and nephews. Also, Janet Terry, special "Grandpa" to Tiffany, Amanda, and Crystal Bromagen, "Great Grandpa" to many. He will be missed by all who knew him.

George is preceded in death by his wife, Rita; his longtime companion, Ellie Snyder; and sisters, Mary Ann Sobczyk and Jeanette Boggs.

Family will welcome friends from 4 to 8pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Waite Funeral Home located at 3300 Center Road in Brunswick. A Celebration of George's life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, at the Funeral Home. Private inurnment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brook Park.
