George Raymond Steinmetz, age 77, of Amanda, OH passed away on November 4, 2025.
George was preceded in death by parents, Raymond J. Steinmetz and Ruth E. Allen; “Little” sister, Regina Brown-Gottliebson (Allen).
He is survived by sister, Joyce Spurlock (Steinmetz) and Jayne E. Bryant (Allen); many nieces and nephews; and special loving cousin, Julia A. “Judy” Fauble (Vickroy).
George was a member of the class of 1966 at Bishop Fenwick High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps after graduation, where he worked as a unit diarist and interpreter. He served an 18 month tour in Vietnam and was awarded many decorations, the highest of which was the Combat Action Ribbon and the Navy Achievement Medal with the combat “V” for valor device.
George worked many years in the cable TV industry, helping to construct many systems all over the U.S. and attaining positions of VP Construction and Chief Technician.
George was an avid skydiver, golfer, bowler and soft ball player. He loved to travel and visited many places in the South Pacific, Latin America, Mexico, Canada, Caribbean, and Europe.
